A word from the Mayor of Metz

Metz TT is definitely one of the most iconic club in Metz, notably thanks to its record.
It is thus understandably honoured by the Table Tennis International Federation who entrusted it with the organisation of one of the Premium Worldwide Circuit 30 stages.
Among these stages, only 8 have been granted the Premium label, which proves again that Metz TT is an outstanding club, not only in the table tennis circle, but also in the general sport sphere.

Our athletes continue to shine in their sport, which they proved once again last month in the Individual France Championship. Indeed, not only did they particularly distinguished themselves by winning new titles, but they also remarkably represented our club in several foreign championships.

From 10 to 14 April in the Metz Saint-Symphorien sports complex, the best young table tennis players in the world will take a new challenge by offering us an intense show, rich in shared emotions.

I want to thank every Metz TT club leader as well as all the volunteers, who make this international competition possible and contribute to make Metz know all around the world.

A word from the Moselle Department President

Sport is one of the major sources of attractiveness in Moselle. An enthusiasm wanted by the Moselle Department which offers everyone the possibility to do a sport of their choice.

Our territory is definitely looking towards the future, with great optimism and conviction. The 2024 Olympic Games perspective sets the possibility to gather the people of Moselle together around a common project and to welcome delegations before this international event.

Beforehand, the 2020 Olympic Games will offer our athletes the possibility to show their huge qualities.

The Moselle Department also has resources necessary to the organisation of national and international events.

A Department that moves, innovates and dares. Along with the clubs, the athletes, the leaders and the youth, we build together a "borderless Moselle".

This year again, we are excited to welcome the Juniors Worldwide Circuit, a competition which was labelled "Premium" by the Table Tennis International Federation, where the champions of tomorrow will meet.

Congratulations to the Table Tennis Grand Est League, the Table Tennis Moselle Comity, Metz TT and the numerous volunteers who work hard to make this event a success.

Good luck to all the athletes who are taking part in this competition. Welcome in Moselle.

Moselle Department President

Our Region is delighted to welcome the ninth edition of the Table Tennis Juniors Worldwide Circuit, which will take place in Metz, from 10 to 14 April 2019.

Our territory is proud to be, for a few days, the table tennis capital where the best international young table tennis players will be given the opportunity to show their talent and the qualities of this demanding sport during one of the eight biggest competitions on its annual international agenda.

Not only is Sport a great source of self-fulfilment and an incomparable way to surpass oneself, but it also allows our territory to be known. This is why we are happy to support the Table Tennis Grand Est League, the Moselle Department Comity and Metz TT who work hand in hand to ensure the full success of this international event.

As a matter of fact, I want to pay tribute to the passion, the commitment and the professionalism of this prestigious event organisers. Thanks to their daily hard work, Metz is asserting itself as a dynamic sports city, therefore positively impacting local tourism and economy.

Around 300 competitors and 100 volunteers will be attending this week-long competition. With more than 17,000 members of a club and 303 clubs in the Grand Est region, table tennis fully contributes to reinforce the attractiveness of our territory. Our region also accompanies its best athletes, such as Stéphane Molliens, member of the Grand Est Team, who won a gold medal with the France team in the Paralympics Games in Rio.

With more than 14,000 clubs and around 1.3 billion members of a club, the Grand Est Region, genuine land of Sports, is proud to support unfailingly the athletes, the leagues, the high-level clubs and all the Sport stakeholders who make Sport values shine on a daily basis, therefore allowing our fellow citizens and community to benefit from it.

To all these young competitors: welcome in our beautiful Region.
May your fair-play and achievements offer us an extraordinary competition and a magnificent show!

This is with an enormous pleasure and a kind of pride that we meet again in Metz for the 9th edition in a row of the ITTF World Junior Circuit leg organized in France.
First of all the pleasure to watch the futur gold nuggets of the TT worldwide, but also the pride to propose to all the participants an organisation of international stature even more completed.

The Grand Est TT region, the TT county of Moselle and the club TT Metz work in a perfect harmony since so many years for showing the French know-how in terms of organisation.
Helped by a team of volunteers moved by a faultless dedication, they will succeed, I am pretty sure, to let remain  the reputation of an event which became an unavoidable pathway for the youth categories.
Let me warmly thank them.

On behalf of the FFTT I welcome  all the participating nations and wish that this 2019 edition of the French Open will follow the previous ones in terms of success.
